ABSTRACT
Trauma occurring to workers or consumers while using hand tools may be subdivided into two categories: instant (acute) trauma and cumulative (subacute) trauma. Cumulative trauma, which deals with ergonomic and biomechanical considerations of hand and tool, is covered in other chapters of this book. Instant trauma and the hand tool will be discussed in this chapter.
