China has treated energy conservation and environmental protection as a national strategic policy. Energy conservation is not only an indispensable part of business activities in China Mobile Communications Corporation (CMCC), but also one of the main corporate social responsibilities. CMCC focuses on six green aspects, including the conservation of energy, materials, lands, and costs, as well as waste recycling and society informationization. CMCC has established a green-dedicated unit, “Green action plan working group”, to promote energy conservation. Compared with the energy consumption per unit volume of business in 2005, in 2010, CMCC has realized the challenge goal of 40% reduction, and in the same time, signed a voluntary energy-saving and emission reduction agreement with the China National Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, which has stated that “Compared with in 2008, in the end of December 2012, the energy consumption per unit of volume consumption per year will be decreased by 20% , achieving the electricity saving of 11.8 billion degrees”.
