ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on the management and communication of the output of the requirements gathering effort. The communicating output from the requirements gathering effort is only a portion of the overall communication with which the business analyst is involves. The business requirements document (BRD) should be a complete and comprehensive document used for communication with stakeholders, this does not mean that every stakeholder should be expected to read every part of the BRD. The Guide to the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge published by International Institute of Business Analysis also discusses the need to add material to the BRD review that is outside of the actual project documentation. The business analyst must plan for sufficient time during the analysis phase to create the presentations and storyboards. Presentations can help explain the rationale and background of the project, as well as the requirements for the solution.
