ABSTRACT

There is no magic formula for guiding the design team of a new or redesigned product, or for support by the manufacturing engineering member of the team representing the factory. The considerations and techniques in Chapter 1 are valuable guides in (1) working together as an integrated team for product development and design, (2) examining the customer’s wants and needs, (3) identifying the problems with assembly of the fi nal product, and (4) developing the product cost.
