ABSTRACT
This chapter provides a summary of the main areas in which biotechnology has
had, and will in the future have, an impact on the fragrance industry.
The implications of knowledge gained from biotechnology are clear to the
perfume industry and provide much excitement over the potential applications.
Here we will outline three subject areas that relate to both the perfumery industry
and to biotechnology.
