ABSTRACT

INTRODUCTION Of all facial subunits, the nose is the most complex in its reconstructive demands. Central and prominent in location, three-dimensional in contour, varied in texture, and functionally critical-the nose fixates our gaze esthetically and dominates the facial landscape. Repair of nasal defects, therefore, requires meticulous attention to both function and form. A firm foundation in nasal anatomy and a thoughtful approach are prerequisite to successful reconstruction.
