ABSTRACT

Microarray experiments allow researchers to simultaneously examine the expression levels of multiple genes under different conditions. Regardless of whether the experiment utilizes cDNA or oligonucleotide (Affymetrix) chips, the primary goal of many microarray studies is to determine which genes differ with regards to expression levels across conditions. Although most current microarray studies compare expression levels across two conditions, comparisons among multiple conditions are possible. This chapter will summarize the use of parametric linear models for such comparisons.
