ABSTRACT

This chapter considers the present state of some areas of controversy in Nuclear Medicine as applied to the renal tract. It is based on the author’s biases but also reflects the views presented by major authorities in the field at the 12th International Committee of Radionuclides in Nephro-Urology meeting on ‘‘The Role of Functional Imaging in Nephro-Urology’’ at La Baule, France, in May 2004, the Society of Nuclear Medicine Meeting in Philadelphia in June 2004, and the International Sentinel Lymph Node Congress in Los Angeles in December 2004. Unreferenced statements are either the author’s opinion or based on presentations and discussions at these meetings.
