New Developments in Ultrasound Imaging of the Urinary Tract

Ultrasonography (US) is probably the most commonly used technique for imaging the urinary tract. It is widely used to identify, confirm, and/or characterize specific lesions and to guide biopsy and interventional procedures. Furthermore, lack of ionizing radiation makes it the first imaging technique in the study of the female pelvis and the pediatric age group.
