ABSTRACT

IntraNetWare 4.x is the most powerful release in the Novell NetWare family of network operating systems. It incorporates the power and reliability of its market-dominating predecessors, while incorporating advancements and features that make upgrading to NetWare 4 logical for both small offices and large networking environments. The biggest change is the addition of NetWare Directory Services, which provides network object-oriented administration instead of server-centric administration as in previous LAN operating systems. Every user, group, printer, or other network object can be managed from a single interface regardless of its primary server connection. The efficiencies this introduces means that LAN network operating systems are at last a viable platform for the corporate enterprise.
