ABSTRACT
The many applications of plates in structures and machines, and the consequent varied geometries and loadings lead to diverse and special problems which are seldom listed or discussed in textbooks and handbooks. In this chapter, we look at some of these special configurations which may be of interest and use to analysts and designers. Specifically, we consider plates with large deflections, perforated plates, reinforced plates, pin loaded plates, and washers.
