ABSTRACT
Why a sealant failed, how it failed, and how to repair it are important questions to many in the sealing industry. Detection of sealant and sealing problems has many aspects from doing a building inspection, to talking with the inhabitants, to studying the sealing material and the substrates, to getting samples and analyzing them. Much of the chemistry and engineering in the previous chapters serve as the basis for doing forensic work.
