ABSTRACT

Acting as protective shells against the environment, curtain walls are one of the most recognizable components of our modern buildings. High-performance building structures feature aesthetically pleasing, highly functional, and energy-efcient curtain wall systems. Curtain walls provide vision, daylighting, as well as insulation and protection from the environment to the occupants. They also can help save heating, air-conditioning, as well as lighting energy, and, in some cases, are even used to generate electricity [1].
