ABSTRACT
Selection of the best joint sealant for a given application requires consideration of all of the requirements for the specic joint, including, among other issues, the usage and expected lifetime of the joint, along with the climate and other environmental factors. Thus, there are many factors to consider while choosing an adequate product. This chapter reviews most of the key decision points to be considered while selecting a sealant. Figure 2.1 provides a checklist of factors to consider and, taken together with the following discussion, it should aid those who must specify sealants.
