ABSTRACT

We live in a world where electronic information grows at a phenomenal rate. In 1982, my Commodore VIC-20 computer had less than 5 kilobytes (KB) of memory. In 1985, my Apple //GS computer came with a whopping 64 KB, which seemed to be an infinite source that could never be fully utilized. Today, with much larger programs and larger amounts of data, we’re carrying 4 and 8 gigabytes (GB)
