To date, silicates have been acknowledged ingredients in the detergent industry. This is because they can most prominently offer a source of alkalinity and pH buffering capacity [1,2]. Some of the types can further assist the detergent builders with the de occulation of soil and the prevention of its redeposition. Other types are able to act directly as water softeners and meet the standards of detergent builders [3]. Another important property is their ability to encounter the corrosion of glass and a range of metals [1,4] in the washing and cleaning process. In the detergent manufacturing process, they are appreciated as valuable processing aids during agglomeration of detergent granules or the adjustment of the bulk density of detergent powders [5].
