ABSTRACT

The effect of the environment on human health is an increasingly important issue in the political, public, and scientific arenas. Reports of disease clusters associated with environmental sources can cause great public anxiety and need to be handled sensitively and effectively. The investigation of such concerns in a timely manner requires the integration of systems, data, and expertise within short timescales.
