ABSTRACT

Physical dimensions of electronic devices are approaching the limit of manufacturing technologies. The elements in new integrated circuitry reached the critical size of 60 nm, which is beyond the limitation of conventional photolithography. Although some methods of lithography, such as electron beam, x-ray, and scanning probe microscopy lithography, are capable of overcoming this limitation,1 high cost and slow processing impede their practical application for mass production.
