ABSTRACT
The time dependence of the mechanical properties is especially evident in the creep failure and the fatigue failure of polymers. Time-dependent creep rupture can occur under constant load, and fatigue failure can occur under repeated loads. This time dependence in polymers is more pronounced at room temperature and moderate operating temperatures than in metals at the same temperatures.
