ABSTRACT
Other properties must be considered for design purposes. The most important mechanical properties that remain to be discussed are the impact strength and the fracture toughness. Thermodynamic properties such as the thermal conductivity (k) and the coefficient of thermal expansion (α) are needed for thermal stress problems. Electrical properties, such as the dielectric strength, sometimes need to be considered along with the mechanical properties in electromechanical applications.
