ABSTRACT
Implementing the process can be as difficult as defining it, especially if the organization does not currently have a patch management process in place. If an organization is just revamping the process, implementing the recently modified process can be an easier task to accomplish. Regardless of the state the organization is in, the standard Plan, Design, Implement, Operate, and Maintain steps should be completed. When it comes to patch management, organizations will be dealing with it on an ongoing basis for the unforeseen future. It is important to not only define a patch management process that can grow with an organization, but also one that can be well integrated into the organization’s standard operating procedures. It is important for organizations to do their due diligence when it comes to planning, designing, implementing, and maintaining a patch management process.
