ABSTRACT
Case studies can help provide an understanding of the actual status of lawful interception. In this chapter, we have intentionally selected very different topics for case studies, but all are of practical use. Companies with well-known credentials have contributed, including Lucent, Siemens, Aqsacom, GTEN, and SS8. The case studies address different telecommunications technologies such as traditional voice switching, wireless services, IP solutions, Web activity logging, Voice-over-IP (VoIP), and cable and e-mail interceptions.
