The potential cost reduction is a compelling argument in favor of offshore scenarios for many companies. Due to its dominant role in a considerable a number of offshore projects, an entire chapter of this book, Chapter 3, is dedicated to cost aspects.

• Efforts to acquire and maintain IT know-how

• Access to scarce talent

• Additional flexibility

• Focus on core activities
