ABSTRACT

This chapter of the book will consist of six sections. It will focus on the

technical aspect of 802.1X and the related protocols and components

involved in implementing it in a network. The preceding chapter provided

a level set of what it is, how it came about, what the standards are, and how

it works. The relationships between 802.1X, EAP, EAPOL, EAP-Methods, and

RADIUS have been defined. This chapter will establish a firm background in

the technical aspects of those components.
