ABSTRACT
Are information systems and change synonymous? Does one always follow the other? Which is ultimately more important for business process improvement? Organizations and entire industries have been struggling with these questions for as long as there have been information systems. In this chapter, we explore how change and information systems have been historically linked, look at different methods to couple process improvements with information systems, and finally, examine some actual health system cases.
