ABSTRACT
To get there, the CIO must serve as a role model by first understanding his or her “leadership style” and then understand the difference between leadership and management, and when to apply each one. Then, the CIO needs to develop leadership capability throughout all levels of the IT organization. Those capabilities are not just for the CIO’s direct reports and other IT managers, but also for the key individual contributors as they lead various projects, programs, and technical initiatives.
