ABSTRACT

As the preceding chapters have discussed, the initial steps in a successful packaged software implementation project involve making a number of key decisions. This chapter continues the planning and decision-making process by addressing another issue that impacts how the implementation is carried out. Previous chapters have dealt with the “what,” “when,” and “how” aspects of software implementation. This one addresses “who.” In addition to deciding which commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) package is the best for the project, the team needs to decide who will be involved in the actual implementation.
