ABSTRACT

Introduction: Intuitive Concepts In some important respects, the idea of a view as commonly understood is consistent with its use in MOSES. A view, according to the dictionary, is the extent or range of vision, a manner of looking at or regarding something. Informally, a view is defined in MOSES as a subset of information observed of one or more entities. e entities are collectively called the target or object of the view. e physical or conceptual point from which a view is observed is the viewpoint, which can be motivated by one or more observer concerns. Different views of the same target can be observed from different viewpoints.*

*ese notions are defined more formally later in the chapter.
