ABSTRACT
Chapter 5 (“Architecture Modeling Languages”) introduced modeling languages including the Unified Modeling Language (UML). A brief overview of the System Modeling Language (SysML) and its relationship to UML was also given. This chapter focuses on how SysML applies to modeling and engineering analysis. Several resources are emerging that describe how to use SysML for systems engineering, including overview papers such as Hause (2006) and in-depth books such as Friedenthal, Moore, and Steiner (2008); Holt and Perry (2008); Weilkiens (2008).
