ABSTRACT

Systems Engineering Standards When dealing with the standards promulgated through the various national and international organizations, it is important to understand that the standardization of concepts and terminology is an agreement between users, practitioners, and other stakeholders of the standard. As such, these standards tend to reflect a consensus of current practice across differing business and technical domains. Furthermore, an international standard must also account for interpretation in multiple languages. It can easily be the case that a single keyword in English, for example, has no corresponding word in one of more of the languages of Europe, much less the many languages and dialects of countries such as India and China.
