ABSTRACT
Contamination in the substrate can originate in the fabrication process (Figure 5.1). Substrates are usually fabricated with one of several variations: single-or double-sided without plated holes, single-or double-sided with plated holes, and multi-layer with plated holes. These printed circuits (etched circuits) are produced via a sequence of operations that differ slightly for the different substrates.
