ABSTRACT
The terms contamination removal and decontamination describe the removal of any matter that may be considered a contaminant. Decontamination can be separated into the broad categories of cleaning (with solid, liquid, or gaseous media), and drying (through volatilization). The objectives of contamination removal are to remove contaminants cost-effectively and efficiently satisfying the applicable quality standards and requirements for processing a specific product volume over a given time.
