ABSTRACT
Although allergen immunotherapy has been utilized for nearly 100 years, its exact mechanism of action is not known. Allergen immunotherapy induces a wide variety of humoral and cellular immune changes (Table 1), but it has been difficult to correlate individual immune changes with the clinical response to immunotherapy. This chapter reviews several immunological tests that have been used to monitor the immune changes induced by allergen immunotherapy.
