ABSTRACT
More recently, semantic Web technologies have been applied to E-business activities. In particular, standards such as eXtensible Markup Language (XML) as well as business-process specifications have been developed for E-business. Furthermore, ontologies are also being developed so that agents can understand the various terms and carry out the transactions on the Web. A new field called semantic E-business has subsequently emerged. This field integrates knowledge management together with business-process management and semantic Web technologies. There is also some research now on incorporating security into semantic E-business [THUR05]. In this chapter we will discuss the developments on secure semantic Ebusiness. We first provide an overview of security issues for E-business applications. Then we will discuss semantic Web technologies for secure E-business.
