Autoradiography involves the visualization of emitted radiation by the use of a photographic emulsion, either:
• A solid emulsion on film, or • A liquid emulsion, with which the tis-
sue is coated Given the amplification necessary for a strong signal, whose interpretation and validity are sometimes questionable, preference is given to detection systems that increase the signal/background ratio and give good cellular resolution.
