ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses the choice of techniques such as post-embedding technique, pre-embedding technique, and frozen tissue technique. Each technique has its own advantages and disadvantages. The principles of each technique is reviewed. The chapter provides a summary table of the different methods used for ultrastructural in situ hybridization, and discusses the criteria used for choosing one of the three techniques for ultrastructural in situ hybridization.
