ABSTRACT
Catalytic cracking is a conversion process that can be applied to a variety of feedstocks
ranging from gas oil to heavy oil (Speight and Ozum, 2002). Fluid catalytic cracking units are
currently in place in approximately 400 refineries around the world and the units are considered
to be one of the most important achievements of the twentieth century.
