ABSTRACT
Damage control involves a systematic approach to early trauma management aimed at maximizing patient survivability. Damage control has three distinct stages: limited operation (stage I), resuscitation (stage II), and re-operation (stage III). The fundamental principles of each stage will be reviewed in this section.
