Diagnosis of Deep Vein Thrombosis

Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a serious condition that frequently occurs in the inpatient

setting but may also affect otherwise healthy subjects. It is rare in the young and it is more

often found in the elderly (1). Inpatients O64 years old in sub-acute care facilities have a high prevalence of DVT despite the use of prophylaxis (2).
