ABSTRACT
This chapter will examine the physical and nonphysical symptoms ascribed to varicose
veins and treatments used to mitigate these. The aim of this chapter is to review the
complex interaction between symptoms, complications, and indications for treatment of
varicose veins. It will also assess the impact of varicose veins on quality of life, the
evidence of effectiveness, and indications for varicose vein treatments.
