ABSTRACT
Mesenteric venous thrombosis (MVT), although rare, can be associated with a high rate of
morbidity and mortality. Portal vein thrombosis (PVT) has better prognosis but, it is like
MVT, difficult to diagnose and can be found in combination with MVT.
