ABSTRACT

The major challenge for the postgenomics efforts is to functionally assign and validate a large number of novel target genes and their corresponding proteins. Although this volume is focusing on structural proteomics and how analyses of protein structures may contribute to functionally annotate genes, other methods based on genetics, protein expression patterns, and gene/protein sequences are widely and efficiently applied to complement structural analysis from experimentally derived structures.
