OSA. Since then, newer surgical and nonsurgical procedures discussed elsewhere
in this book have been shown to be effective in treating less severe forms of OSA.
Despite these new advancements in the treatment of OSA, tracheotomy remains
an important option for patients with severe life-threatening disease.
