ABSTRACT

Since the introduction of endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) repair endovascular

aneurysm repair (EVAR) by Parodi (1) in 1991, this technique has continued to gain popularity

and widespread acceptance by the vascular surgical community. This has mainly been due to

the accepted perioperative benefits of elective EVAR on morbidity and mortality. This chapter

presents the results of elective EVAR in terms of perioperative mortality and longer-term

mortality and morbidity rates.
