ABSTRACT

Occlusive iliac disease is due to atherosclerosis in the vast majority of cases and is a common

distribution of that pathology. Occasionally the lesion is restenotic (myointimal hyperplasia

following previous intervention or trauma) and very rarely it may be due to pelvic irradiation,

fibromuscular dysplasia, or follow exuberant protracted cycling. These rarities will not be

discussed further here.
