ABSTRACT
Arthropods (phylum Arthropoda) are invertebrates with jointed appendages and exoskeletons, and include insects, arachnids, and a variety of organisms in other classes. They frequently serve as vectors of infectious diseases, but they may also cause disease by biting, stinging, producing toxins, or directly invading tissue. Ocular diseases directly due to arthropods are uncommon.
