ABSTRACT
Background to METM Case Studies Mobile Enterprise Transition and Management (METM) is the application of MET and the ensuing management of a mobile enterprise. It has been applied practically to a few enterprises. MET can be applied in many wide-ranging industries such as education, healthcare, pharmaceutical, tourism, hospitality, automotive, aviation, banking and financial, sports, and entertainment. Figure 10.1 shows its application in six such specific industries. Also shown in the figure are keywords that depict the major role played by mobility in these enterprises. This book contains three case studies (outlined in Chapters 10, 11, and 12, respectively) that are selected from the aforementioned industries to depict certain aspects of the practical application of the METM framework. This chapter describes the first one: METM based on a medium-sized enterprise in the pharmaceutical industry. The subsequent two case studies are in the areas of travel and tourism (Chapter 11) and education environment (Chapter 12). The travel and tourism case study is for a small business, whereas that in Chapter 12 approaches mobility from the environmental point of view and its impact on green society and sustainability.
