ABSTRACT

In addition to the parameters considered in Chapter 3, another important parameter, namely time, affects the state of bodies. Its effect is accounted in the differential form of the equation of state (Equation 2.140). Chapter 3 considers the processes of variations of the state that take place during time intervals achieved on modern testing equipment and specified by appropriate standards. If a variation of state takes place within a time interval shorter than the standard one, the dynamic effect should be added into the consideration (Section 4.2); if this time is much longer, then durability is under consideration (Section 4.3).
