ABSTRACT

In recent decades, there has been increasing demand for high-data-rate transmission over wireless optical communication links [1-5]. This interest stems from the advantages of using optical systems over conventional radiofrequency (RF) systems, such as less mass, power, and volume along with high gain and narrow band. Unfortunately, the performance of optical systems can be corrupted significantly by atmospheric turbulence caused by strong multipath fading due to multiple scattering of optical waves on various turbulent structures.
