ABSTRACT

Paulo was having trouble sleeping. He had just returned from a last-minute trip around the world to visit various development sites trying to get his project back on track. Development was going poorly. They were far behind schedule and the code to date was unstable. It did not make sense to Paulo; the system they were building was very similar to other systems the organization had built in the past. The components for the system were loosely coupled and fairly well defined. This project should have been a no-brainer. He was convinced that the problem was with the remote development teams; they just did not seem to get it.
